You may just have a bad DVI transmitter. But, of course, the proper solution is for the video card makers to use a lower valued resistor. I got a passive DVI to VGA adapter to use my main monitor with the new 260 card and it won't recieve data from the computer. Solutions: lower the refresh rate Lowering the screen refresh rate lowers the DVI pixel clock which makes it much easier to transmit the digital image through the cable.

no need to buy an expensive digital-analog converter, just get a cheap-o dvi-d cable.
